Long Term Support (LTS) SDK versions are a commitment from Camera Kit to provide fixes for 1 year after initial release, including critical bug fixes and security patches.

Long Term Support Policy

Camera Kit has introduced Long-Term Support (LTS) releases:

Mobile SDK, starting with version 1.26 released on Sept 13, 2023
Web SDK, starting with version 0.12.0 released on Sept 13, 2023

Snap commits to provide fixes for an LTS version for 1 year after initial release. Adopting an LTS version is recommended for developers who do not need the features in the latest release or whose SDK upgrade requires significant effort or complexity. It is important to note that you may need to upgrade to a patched version when fixes are released.

Our goal is to give confidence to our developer community that adopting this version will serve them for one year without needing to upgrade to the newest version of the SDK. Of course, if it is feasible, we always recommend upgrading to the latest version for access to the latest features. Here are the details of the LTS Policy:

Each LTS version will be supported for 12 months after release.
LTS version fixes will include critical bug fixes, security patches, and exclude any changes that will introduce significant regressions.
LTS versions will continue to honor the Lens Studio Compatibility of the major version. For example, if you plan on using SDK version 1.26, be sure to build Lenses on Lens Studio 4.55 to avoid compatibility errors.
We will provide a Changelog for LTS versions.

Versions not listed as LTS are supported through the next SDK version release.

Versions and LTS Lifecycle

LTS versions will be supported for one year after initial release. Once a version has reached the end of the LTS lifecycle, Camera Kit will no longer provide support for developers maintaining this version of the SDK. However, we will provide support for developers upgrading from this SDK version.
