Create, Remix, and Share Guide

This guide explains how to create a Lens in Easy Lens, remix existing ideas, save your work, and share Lenses with others.

Create a Lens​

  1. Open Easy Lens and start a new chat.
  2. Describe what you want, or tap one of the example prompts.
  3. Answer any clarifying questions Easy Lens asks, or tap "Just make a Lens!" to generate immediately.
  4. Preview the Lens on yourself and keep refining until you are happy with it.

Remix and iterate​

Remixing means starting from something that already exists and making it your own.

  • Remix an example prompt. Tap a suggested prompt, then change it—swap the subject, the colors, or the style.
  • Stack onto your current Lens. Keep the conversation going and add, remove, or adjust components one at a time.
  • Branch a new idea. Start a fresh chat when you want to explore a different direction without losing focus.

Save your work​

  • Sign in with your Snapchat account so your Lenses are tied to your profile and available across devices.
  • Easy Lens keeps your conversations and generated Lenses so you can return and continue editing.
  • To make a Lens permanent and shareable beyond your own device, publish it (see below).

Manual changes you make later in Lens Studio do not carry back into an Easy Lens conversation. Decide where you want to do your final editing before making detailed manual tweaks.

Share a Lens​

How you share depends on whether your Lens is published.

Before publishing​

You can preview and show your Lens within Easy Lens, but to let friends use it on their own devices you need to publish it first. See the Publishing Guide for the full publishing flow.

After publishing​

Once your Lens is Live on Snapchat, you can share it with anyone:

  • Lens link—a URL that opens your Lens in Snapchat.
  • Snapcode—a scannable code people can point their camera at to unlock the Lens.

Can't find a Lens you made?​

  • Confirm you are signed in to the same Snapchat account you used to create the Lens.
  • For published Lenses, check My Lenses and the organization/Lens Folder filter—the Lens may be under a different folder.
  • A Lens set to Offline won't be usable until you set it back to Public. See the Publishing Guide.
  • A deleted Lens cannot be recovered, but you can resubmit it from the original project.
